Obituary to Elizabeth Willett

MSOPC is very sad to share the news that Elisabeth Willett died on 1 February 2017 after having had a fall on Christmas Eve.
Elisabeth achieved so much and will be sorely missed by MSOPC and its supporters. She was a founder member of the organisation which was formed in 2004 and played a very active role.  As its Secretary until April 2016 she kept MSOPC running smoothly producing the Committee Minutes and Agendas and wrote to Councillors and MPs on behalf of MSOPC putting forward the views of local people.  Together with a friend of hers in the business, she applied successfully for much of the funding that enabled MSOPC to provide its information network and hold public events, the last of which was the MSOPC Christmas Party on 10 December 2016 which she attended.  She was the Editor of the MSOPC newsletter and each article that we submitted was tweaked to make sure the spelling and grammar was Hansard perfect!  Even though she stood down as MSOPC Secretary, Elisabeth never stopped working to improve the situation for older people and supporting MSOPC in its efforts to do so.
On behalf of everyone associated with MSOPC we would like to say how sorry we are to loose Elisabeth and send our heartfelt condolences to Elisabeth’s family.  Rest in peace Elisabeth and thank you for all you did.
